The Hamilton golf pro Mark Purser has put together a 16-under par total after two rounds of the Sail Open in New Delhi, but he's four shots behind the leader.

Purser, who's in his rookie year on the Asian tour has had rounds of 65 and 63, but Thailand's Chapchai Nirat, who's nicknamed King Kong has had a pair of 62s to lead on 20 under par, an Asian tour scoring record for 36 hjoles.

Wellingtonian Mark Brown's career was rekindled when he won the inaugural Sail Open last year.
