Bulls beat Hurricanes

South Africa's Bulls remain unbeaten in the Super 14 rugby competition after beating the Hurricanes 19-14 in Wellington with referee Matt Goddard playing the leading role.

Bulls first five Morne Steyn kicked 14 points while the Hurricanes scored two tries to one with Tamati Ellison and Jason Eaton touching down.

However it was the five yellow cards and one red handed out by Goddard that dominated the match.

Australian Goddard issued three yellow cards in the first half before Bulls flanker Deon Stegmann received a second yellow for a dangerous tackle on All Blacks centre Conrad Smith and was sent off in the 49th minute.

Hurricanes lock Jason Eaton was then immediately sinbinned by Goodard to leave the hosts with 13 men as Scott Waldrom was still cooling his heels for a ruck infringement in

the first minute of the second half.

Stegmann and Eaton will appear before the SANZAR judiciary today.
