Henson rues Wales' backward step after Irish defeat

The Wales centre Gavin Henson says their loss to Ireland in rugby's Six Nations Championships decider shows the side's taken a backward step.

Henson was switched to full-back in the second-half of the 17-15 Irish win at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff yesterday, a result which saw the defending champions finish fourth,

Henson doesn't think many of Welsh players will be going on the British Lions trip to South Africa.

Wales coach Warren Gatland says the game turned in a six minute spell the second half when Ireland scored two tries and the home side lost six lineouts on their own throw-in.

The former Wales and Lions first-five Barry John says the team's not not as inventive or as exciting as it was in the opening game against Scotland
