The South African cricketers might have lost their home test series to Australia, but they finished it with an emphatic win by an innings and 20 runs at Newlands in Cape Town.

Australia needed 442 runs to avoid an innings loss, and they were bowled out for 422 approaching stumps on day four, with spinner Paul Harris taking six wickets.

The Australian pace bowler Mitchell Johnson top-scored with his maiden century, an unbeaten 123.

Australian took the series 2-1 to stay on top of the world test rankings.
