Colleagues and former players have praised the International Cricket Council's most experienced umpire in the longest form of the game Steve Bucknor after his final Test, in Cape Town.

The former England captain Alec Stewart says Bucknor is up there with David Shepherd as one of the umpiring greats of his era.

And the IICC General Manager - Cricket David Richardson called him an outstanding servant of the game.

The 62-year-old Jamaican umpired his final Test match at Newlands in Cape Town between South Africa and Australia, his 128th match in the middle.
