The Bulldogs say they'll try to appeal the National Rugby League's decision to strip them of two competition points for having 14 players on the field when they snatched victory from Penrith last Saturday.
The club says it accepts the National Rugby League decision they had an extra man on the field briefly .
But chief executive Todd Greenberg says losing two points is an extreme punishment and the club will investigate all options to appeal the breach notice issued yesterday.
Eagle view cameras showed 14 players on the field when the last replacement Ben Roberts scored the match-levelling try in the 78th minute.
The conversion to give the Bulldogs a 26-24 win and moved them to top of the table.
The NRL's chief operating officer Graham Annesley says it's clear skipper Andrewr Ryan was on the field when he shouldn't have been when r a trainer called him back after the interchange.
