Schumacher to help Ferrari in Australia

6:06 am on 25 March 2009

Seven-times world champion Michael Schumacher is expected to be back in a Formula One pit on race day for the first time since he retired in 2006 when the season begins this Sunday in Australia.

Schumacher's manager Willi Weber has confirmed the 40-year-old will be in Ferarri's pit at the Melbourne Grand Prix circuit to help advise the engineers as his former team's secret weapon.

Weber says with the new rule changes, Michael can help the engineers understand the car better.

Schumacher is already on his way to Australia and will then fly to Malaysia for the GP in Kuala Lumpur on April 5th in a bid to help Ferrari drivers Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen.
