How joins NZ cricket team

6:05 am on 25 March 2009

The Central Districts batsman Jamie How has joined the New Zealand cricket team in Napier as cover for Daniel Flynn.

Flynn sustained an injury to his left hand while batting in the first Test against India in Hamilton last weekend.

Tests have shown no indication of any fracture, but the hand is swollen, affecting Flynn's ability to bat.

He will continue to receive treatment and will be further assessed today before any decision is made on whether he plays in the match which starts tomorrow.

How's last test was against the West Indies in Napier in December.
