The Australian rugby referee Matt Goddard won't be officiating in the Super 14 rugby competition this week.
Goddard made all the headlines last Friday night when he handed out five yellow cards and a red during the Bulls-Hurricanes match in Wellington.
NZRU Referees boss Lyndon Bray says Goddard is undertaking a review with the hope of returning next weekend.
Bray says Goddard was trying to achieve quick ball at the tackle with what proved too much of a hard nosed approach.
Goddard is penciled in for a game next weekend which means that if he passes his review he will be back.
