Vettori frank but fair in assessment that New Zealand needs to improve everywhere

It's a frank but fair assessment of the New Zealand cricket team's performance but skipper Dan Vettori says they've simply got to improve in all facets of their play if they're to become a competitive test side.

The Black Caps sit eighth on the international test rankings above only bottom placed Bangladesh.

They head into tomorrow's second test against India in Napier looking to put behind them their ten wicket loss in Hamilton.

Vettori says New Zealand has a reputation as test battlers but that didn't show through at Seddon Park.

Meanwhile Black Caps batsman Daniel Flynn will undergo a fitness test tomorrow morning on his injured left hand to decide whether he plays. If he doesn't Jamie How will replace him.
