The New Zealand track cycling team has another chance for a gold medal at the world championships in Poland.

The womens pursuit team, which includes yesterday's individual gold medalist Allison Shanks, is through to the final against Great Britain who were top qualifiers, but by only a fraction of a second.

Jesse Sargent missed out on the medals in the mens individual pursuit, beaten by Australia's Jack Bobridge to finish in 5th place.

Sargent's time of 4 minutes 21 seconds was five seconds slower than his time at the recent national championships.
