King-Turner upsets top seed

The New Zealand tennis number two Dan King-Turner is into the semifinals of the Futures tournament in Wellington with an upset 6-2 6-4 win win over the over top seed Carsten Ball Australia.

King-Turner broke Ball's serve in the first game and then again in the fifth game of the set.

The second set was game for game until King-Turner managed to break Ball's big serve in the fifth game to go ahead 5-4 and then serve out the game and the match.

But the New Zealand number one Rubin Statham lost to the third-seeded Australian Adam Feeney 6-3 3-6 7-5.

The other semifinal will feature second seed Tatsuma Ito of Japan and the unseeded Korean Davis Cup player Young-Jun Kim.
