The New Zealand motocross rider Josh Coppins has finished sixth in the MX1 Motocross GP opener at Faenza in Italy.
After started the year with some great results at the warm up internationals, Coppins crashed when he was leading late in the qualifying race.
He says he was blinded by the setting sun, hit a hole on the circuit and was thrown off.
Although he landed very hard he was cleared to race in the Grand Prix where he was almost last on the grid.
Coppins will head to Bulgaria for round two next weekend.
