Brumbies forward could be left paralysed

6:30 am on 31 March 2009

The ACT Brumbies forward Shawn Mackay remains in a critical but stable condition in a Cape Town hospital after being struck by a car at the weekend.

26 year old McKay suffered a cervical spine fracture and dislocation, a broken leg and multiple facial fractures and lacerations and there's some concern that he could be left paralysed.

It's expected he'll be brought out of a medically induced coma tomorrow.
