England is poised to stage the world's first day-night Test cricket match.

The England and Wales Cricket Board is pressing ahead with plans to stage the first floodlit Test at Lord's next year, between England and Bangladesh.

Under the proposal, a white ball will be used, which means players will wear coloured kits to avoid the ball getting lost against the traditional white clothing.

The proposal, which has already upset traditionalists, is set to go before the International Cricket Council in May.
