The Hurricanes have called Victor Vito to their squad in South Africa, after the departure of flanker Scott Waldrom and winger Hosea Gear, who are both returning to Wellington due to injury.
The 22-year-old, epresented the New Zealand Sevens team last weekend in Hong Kong, and was due to play in the Adelaide leg of the IRB Sevens World Series later this week.
Gear's Super 14 season looks to be over after suffering ligament damage in his left knee, in the Hurricanes win over the Lions in Johannesburg at the weekend.
He's expected to be out for up to eight weeks.
Waldrom has an abdominal strain but he's expected to be right for the side's next home game against the Stormers in Wellington in just over a fortnight.
