The America's Cup event authority, AC Management, has signed a host venue agreement for the Spanish city of Valencia to hold America's Cup pre-regattas there in July and October.

And AC Management says they will be part of the 33rd Americas Cup Match next year, if Alinghi wins its pending appeal decision in the New York Supreme Court against BMW Oracle's succcesful claim the Swiss holders don't have the sole right to set the format of the challenger event.

The defender and challengers will sail the current generation of Cup yachts in a combination of fleet and match racing much like the Acts held before the last America's Cup.

The first pre-regatta is scheduled to start on July 10.

The court decision which will determine whether Alinghi can proceed with its plans is expected within weeks.
