Lee in winning form heading for Augusta

New Zealand's teenage golf sensation Danny Lee has only one more event to play - next week's Masters tournament in Augusta, Georgia - before embarking on his professional career.

The 18-year-old will head to Augusta National in winning form after beating the Dutchman Reiner Saxton 2 and 1 yesterday in the Georgia Cup, the annual match between the US and British amateur champions.

On the New Zealand TAB Lee is paying the amazingly short price of $75 to win the Masters, which has never been won by an amateur.

A Masters tradition is that the US amateur champion plays in the same group for the first two rounds as the defending champion, who is the South African Trevor Immelman.

Lee's first event as a professional will be the PGA tour event in New Orleans, starting on the 23rd of this month.
