International cricket will return to Pakistan says international cricket boss

The prospect of Pakistan hosting the 2011 cricket world cup seems to be slipping further away, with international cricket bosses unable to offer any indication as to when touring teams may return to the country.

The ICC chairman David Morgan and CEO Haroon Lorgat were in Wellington last week as part of an ICC centennial celebrations, that saw New Zeland legend Sir Richard Hadlee formally inducted into the sport's hall of fame at the Basin Reserve.

In the wake of the recent attack on the Sri Lankan side in Lahore, international tours to Pakistan have been put on hold.

The ICC will discuss later this month whether to redistribute the Pakistan's 2011 world cup matches among co-hosts India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka but Lorgat is optimistic about the future.
