India in charge of third test

6:49 pm on 4 April 2009

The Indian cricketers are in control two days into the deciding third test in Wellington after dismissing New Zealand for 197 and extending their lead to 233 at stumps.

They'll resume on 51 for one, with Virender Sehwag out for 12.

Any chance the Black Caps had of getting close to India's first innings of 379, were quickly dispelled by Zaheer Khan who exploited a brisk northerly and some reckless batting to finish with five for 65.

Ross Taylor top-scored with 42 and was unlucky to be caught by India's captain M S Dhoni as the ball missed the edge of his bat and deflected off a pad.

Dhoni finished with six catches, a test first for an Indian wicketkeeper.
