Bell, Ingram chase final world championship places

Olympians Daniel Bell and Melissa Ingram will be chasing more than titles on the final night of the New Zealand Open Swim Championships in Christchurch.

They're both through to the 100 metres backstroke finals and are the best of the remaining chances to join the seven swimmers have already qualified for July's world championships in 12 events.

Among them is Moss Burmester, who highlighted the penultimate night of finals by clipping 2/10ths of a second of his Commonwealth record in the 200 butterfly.

Burmester clocked 1 min 54.15sec, the fastest time in the world this year.
