Strauss's nose not out of joint over Twenty20 omission

6:39 pm on 7 April 2009

England's Test and one-day cricket captain Andrew Strauss apparently doesn't mind being left out of the national squad for the Twenty20 World Cup in June.

England selector Geoff Miller says Strauss is better suited to the longer forms of the game and says the player fully agrees.

Miller concedes that Strauss had an outstanding tour of the West Indies recently, but the selectors believe his game is best suited to tests and one day internationals.

England's Twenty20 captain will be named once the selectors have undertaken a comprehensive review of the West Indies tour, and Strauss's predecessor Kevin Pietersen says he's not interested in the job.
