Oracle want multi-team regatta

The Golden Gate Yacht Club and its team, BMW ORACLE Racing, say they remain committed to negotiate with defender Alinghi over the format for the next America's Cup.

In their first statement since winning a New York State Court of Appeals hearing last week, Oracle say they want a conventional mutual consent protocol for the next Cup that would involve all teams.

BMW ORACLE Racing's owner, Larry Ellison, and the President of Alinghi, Ernesto Bertarelli, have communicated with each other since the court ruling that made the Americans the Challenger of Record.

At this stage the club believes it is best to keep communications between the parties private in the interests of reaching a successful conclusion as quickly as possible.

There is a possibility that Oracle and Alinghi will compete in a 2-boat regatta to decide the next Cup.
