Central Districts battling in State Championship final

Central Districts will start the fourth day of domestic cricket's State Championship final trailing Auckland by 46 runs with seven second innings wickets in hand after rained ended play in the afternoon session at Lincoln.

Opening batsmen Peter Ingram is not out on 60, while Matthew Sinclair was dismissed for 33.

Auckland resumed on 300 for five, with centuries from Richard Jones and Anaru Kitchen, but was dismissed for 342 in reply to Central Districts' first innings of 180.

Auckland needs only a draw to win its first trophy in first-class cricket in four years.
