Weather making life difficult for Lee at Augusta

6:56 pm on 8 April 2009

The New Zealand golfer Danny Lee says he's only now coming to terms with the challenge ahead of him as he prepares to tee off on Friday in the opening round of The Masters.

To add to the pressure, the 18-year old Lee will spend his first two rounds walking the course alongside the defending champion Trevor Immelman of South Africa.

The US Amateur Champion says when he first played the Augusta course last week it seemed easy but conditions have since changed and now he understands why it's got such a reputation.

Lee says he can see what it's hard to make birdies because the course is long and fast and cpild windy, weather's making conditions tough.
