Thorn signs on through to World Cup

The Crusaders and All Black lock Brad Thorn has committed his future to New Zealand rugby, re-signing with the national body through until the end of 2011.

The 34-year-old has played 24 Tests for the All Blacks since 2003 and joins a number of senior players in committing through to the 2011 Rugby World Cup, including All Blacks captain Richie McCaw, Rodney So'oialo, Keven Mealamu, Dan Carter, Ma'a Nonu and Andrew Hore.

Thorn says his family is settled in Christchurch and he's still enjoying playing for the All Blacks and the Crusaders.

The deal also means Thorn's brief association with the Tasman Makos in the Air New Zealand Cup will come to an end, with the former Brisbane Bronco returning to Canterbury, where he made his provincial debut.
