Cougars top, Dynamos dead last

12:21 pm on 12 April 2009

The Christchurch Cougars remain top of the National Basketball League ladder while Taranaki are rooted to the bottom.

Taranaki couldn't break their losing streak against Hawkes Bay at home on Saturday night, going down 93-82 in New Plymouth tonight to keep the Dynamos' horror start to the NBL going. They're now zero and six.

The Cougars' home win over North Harbour, 91 - 86 on Friday, is enough to keep them top despite only playing five games. The three teams tied for second place with a four and two record, the Wellington Saints, the Hawks and Harbour, have all played one more game.

Also on Friday in Palmerston North the Auckland Stars beat the Manawatu Jets 82-77.

Round six tips off Thursday with Waikato taking on Harbour at Te Awamutu Events Centre in what should be juicy top of the table clash.
