The New Zealand golfer Danny Lee has signed with the giant sports management company IMG in a deal believed to be worth about $17.5 million.

IMG's David Rollo says there'll be a formal announcement from Melbourne tomorrow but there's no way the company will disclose what the deal is worth to the Rotorua 18-year-old.

Lee will play his first tournament as a professional at next week's Zurich Classic in New Orleans and David Rollo says sponsorship deals may be announced there.

Lee ended his amateur career at the weekend after missing the cut at the Masters.

He'll be in select company as IMG's clients include Tiger Woods, Padraig Harrington, Trevor Immelman and the former US Open champion Michael Campbell.
