Pakistan looks set to accept New Zealand Cricket's offer of switching the Black Caps' scheduled tour their later this year to New Zealand.

Pakistan's playing Australia on neutral soil in Dubai this week but the cost of security is forcing a re-think of holding future tours there.

The series was relocated after Australia refused to send its team to Pakistan in the wake of the terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan side last month.

New Zealand are scheduled to tour Pakistan in November for a three-Test and five-match one-day series but have indicated they're unlikely to tour.

Pakistan Cricket Board Ijaz Butt says the best option available appears to be to play in New Zealand as the PCB can save a lot of money on security and accommodation costs.

With Pakistan to tour Australia in late December the side can also then easily head across the Tasman.

New Zealand's last tour to Pakistan in 2002 was abandoned before the second test after a suicide bomb attack outisde their hotel which killed 14 people.
