Gerrard to miss Arsenal match

7:26 am on 22 April 2009

Liverpool are without injured captain Steven Gerrard for the Premier League match at home to Arsenal.

The England midfielder is expected to be ruled out for a further seven to 10 days with the groin problem that has forced him to miss Liverpool's last two matches.

A draw at Anfield would see Liverpool go top of the table although champions Manchester United can regain first place if they defeat Portsmouth at Old Trafford on Thursday.

Arsenal are without their top scorer Robin van Persie and fellow striker Emmanuel Adebayor with groin and hamstring injuries respectively.
