Manly avenged last year's National Rugby League Grand Final thumping from Melbourne with a record 40-nil win last night in Sydney.

The Sea Eagles led only 8-nil at halftime, but they ended up with 8 tries, as Melbourne became the first team in 30 years to be held scoreless in a Grand Final.

The new New Zealand A1GP motor racing driver Earl Bamber is pleasantly surprised to be in third place after the opening round of the world championship in the Netherlands.

The world rally champion Sebastien Loeb has won his fourth straight Rally of Spain to extend his championship lead over Mikko Hirvonen to 12 points with three rounds remaining.

Chelsea remain on top of the English Premier football league after a 2-nil victory over Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge... 2nd placed Liverpool beat Manchester City 3-2.
