A top ten finish for New Zealands long and middle distance runner

in Germany long distance runner Kimberley Smith has had a top ten finish in the womens 10-thousand metres race at the world athletics championships in Berlin this morning.

Kimberly finished in 8th place with a time of 31 point 21 seconds.

New Zealands High performance manager Kevin Ankrom says she was in a good position until 8 laps to go when the Africans went up another notch

The race was won by Kenya's Linet Masai in 30-point 51 seconds. Valerie Vili begins the defence of her world shot put title tonight
