Victoria's premier John Brumby was basking in his winning investment yesterday after Tiger Woods rounded off a massive week for golf in Austalia with a two-shot win in the Australian Masters in Melbourne.
The state government contributed half Woods 3.75 million dollar fee, and they're saying the world golf number one's first visit to Australia in 11 years was well worth the investment.
Woods produced a 4- under par 68 yesterday to hold off the West Australian Greg Chalmers by two shots, at the end of what he described as a phenomenal week in Melbourne.
New Zealand's Tim Wilkinson was in the top-10 midway through the final round but faded over the closing holes to finish in a tie for 17th, 11 shots behind Woods.
