Blackburn manager has phone confiscated

Updated at 5:49am on 26 November 2009

Blackburn Rovers football manager Sam Allardyce has had his mobile telephone confiscated - by his wife.

According to Rover's assistant manager Neil McDonald, Allardyce's wife has gone to the extreme to prevent her husband from ringing his stand-in during matches while he prepares for heart surgery.

Allardyce missed Blackburn's 2-0 win at Bolton Wanderers on Monday morning, and he's also expected to be absent for this weekend's home game against Stoke City.
