Breakers beaten by Hawks

Updated at 12:23pm on 5 December 2009

The Wollongong Hawks have beaten the New Zealand Breakers 93-91 in their Australian National Basketball League clash on the North Shore.

The Breakers led throughout, with the Hawks not taking the lead until the final minute.

Kirk Penney (23) and CJ Bruton (22) again led the Breakers who continue their mid-season slump in a competition they were picked to lead.

During the match Breakers veteran Tony Ronaldson brought up 10,000 points in the league, becoming the fifth player in history to do so.

The 8 and 5 Hawks now top the standings, while the 7 and 7 Breakers are 6th.
