New Zealand swimmers to take on Australia's best

Updated at 12:37pm on 10 February 2010

Forty-one of New Zealand's leading swimmers will take on some of Australia's best at the New South Wales Championships in Sydney this weekend.

The New Zealanders are using the three-day meet as preparation for the Commonwealth Games swimming trials in April.

It will be the squad's first competition in the new regulation racing suits, with the new rules coming into force last month.

It is also the first competition for the squad under new head coach Mark Regan, who has been working closely with leading coaches Thomas Ansorg and Scott Talbot.
