Two of the top players in the history of New Zealand bowls, world champions Gary Lawson and Andrew Curtain, have won their 10th national titles.

The two men were part of the Eastbourne men's fours which won National Club championships in Rotorua on Saturday.

They have now equalled Nick Unkovich's record of 10 title.

Lawson later said while he is happy to have the 10th title he still wants to match 10 titles won by the legendary Nick Unkovich at New Zealand National Open championships.

The club titles have only been added to the bowl's calendar in the last decade and were not part of the bowls scene when Unkovih won his titles.

Lawson has won nine open titles while Curtain has won seven.
