The Cronulla captain Paul Gallen has been found not guilty of a careless high tackle by the National Rugby League judiciary and is now free to play the Sydney Roosters on Saturday.

Gallen was charged for his high shot on South Sydney's Craig Wing last Friday but he convinced the panel that contact was made with his chest and not his arm or shoulder.

Earlier on Wednesday, Bulldogs hooker Michael Ennis was found not guilty of a chicken wing tackle and cleared to play the Wests Tigers on Sunday.

The Gold Coast prop Matthew White entered an early guilty plea to a grade three crusher tackle and was banned for three games.
