Willis in line for silver medal

The New Zealand athlete Nick Willis is in line for an upgrade in his Olympic medal following the news that the Beijing 1,500 metre gold medalist Rashid Ramzi is one of those exposed as a drugs cheat as the IOC continues its retrospective testing of samples from last year's Games in Beijing.

Moroccan-born Ramzi, who became Bahrain's first Olympic champion by winning the 1500 metres track gold medal, has tested positive to the new blood-boosting drug CERA.

The NZOC secretary general Barry Maister says subject to the result of his B sample, New Zealand's bronze medalist in the event Nick Willis could be promoted to the silver medal.
