The New Zealand motor racing driver Brendan Hartley has been granted his F1 Superlicense and his Red Bull team have named him as reserve and test driver for next week's Spanish Grand Prix.
The 19-year-old tested for the team in December last year and has been racing for them in the Formula Renault Championship.
Hartley says he's happy to have been granted his Superlicense as it's another step on the path to reaching his goal of being a Formula 1 driver.
With the new in-season testing ban, Hartley says he's not likely to get much cockpit time, but he'll be part of the team and will learn a lot from that.
Red Bull have performed well this F1 season with Sebastien Vettel third in the drivers championship after four races. Red Bull also own the Toro Rosso team.
Hartley will only drive if there is an injury to one of the regular Red Bull F1 drivers.
