The Warriors paid the ultimate price for one penalty too many as St George Illawarra came from behind to beat them 12-11 in an National Rugby League at Wollongong.

With his side ahead 11-8 going into the last 10 minutes the Warriors skipper Steve Price was penalised near his own line for impeding the play the ball and the Dragons scored from the ensuing set.

Stacey Jones had one last crack at sending the game into extra time but, as he did in last weekend's drawn match in Melbourne, the halfback fumbled while shaping for a late field goal.

He'd kicked one to give the Warriors a 7-2 lead at half-time after Patrick Ah Van scored their first try.

Jerome Ropati got the second but later dropped a pass five metres out with the line open.

The Warriors have never won at in Wollongong in seven starts and can blame only themselves after making 17 errors.
