Docherty wins in Korea

6:31 am on 4 May 2009

New Zealand enjoyed one of its best days in Triathlon with Bevan Docherty and Kris Gemmell first and fourth respectively in the opening round of the ITU World Championship Series in Korea.

Both Kiwis had work to do heading into the final 10km run leg, giving up almost 30 seconds to the leaders... however they'd reached the front with one of the 2.5km laps remaining.

Docherty won the sprint finish in one of the closest finishes in the history of the sport and showed he'll take some beating in the remaining 6 World Champs Series races this

year.

Sam Warriner and Andrea Hewitt both fell during the women's race on Saturday, with Warriner eventually finishing 8th.
