Strong interest in Danny Lee

The TAB took a hit on Danny Lee last weekend when the young New Zealand golfer made the cut in what was only his second start as a professional.

TAB golf bookmaker Kevin Gutschlag says nearly 70 percent of the bets placed on Danny Lee to make the cut at the Quail Hollow Championship last weekend backed the 18-year-old to be successful.

Gutschlag says Lee really seems to have captured the imagination of New Zealanders as there has been stronger interest than usual in golf betting on events where he is competing.

Lee missed the cut in his first professional tournament - the Zurich Classic in New Orleans in the United States - by eight shots just over two weeks ago.
