The Australia rugby league star Greg Inglis has revealed he has been tormented this season by the violent death of his cousin in February.

Inglis says he's been affected by the death of 18-year-old Caleb Jarrett who was stabbed in Nambucca Heads, in northern New South Wales.

He says the death of his aunt from natural causes just before the start of the NRL season has also affected his play.

Inglis is preparing for Friday night'sTest against New Zealand in Brisbane and has not spoken previously about his cousin's death.
