New Zealand Football looks to future coaches

New Zealand Football says one silver lining to the glut of coaching vacancies in the country's premier domestic competition is the opportunity talented young coaches to step up to the mark.

Four of the eight New Zealand Football Championship franchises are currently on the lookout for a new head coach.

The Director of Football Development John Herdman says losing the experience of some senior coaches is an issue they're working to remedy, but it also presents an opportunity for some the next generation of coaches to show what they've got.

John Herdman says among the young coaches currently sitting their coaching licences are former Leeds United defender Danny Hay, along with his Waitakere United teammates Neil Emblem and Darren Bazely.
