Boyd cleared to play for Kangaroos but no word on Slater

The Kangaroos winger Darius Boyd has been passed fit to play in Friday night's rugby league test against New Zealand in Brisbane.

Boyd completed yesterday's training session without incident and Canberra's Joel Monaghan, who was on standby for Boyd, has now left the Australian camp to join the Country Origin side in Orange.

Kangaroos fullback Billy Slater is continuing to receive treatment to an ankle injury suffered yesterday and an update on his condition is expected later on Wednesday.

No decision has yet been made on whether a shadow player will be brought into the squad as cover for Slater.
