The former All Black lock Chris Jack is among the latest high-profile international players confirmed for an historic showdown between the Barbarians and the Wallabies in Sydney next month.

Jack is among four more players confirmed with the Irish fullback Geordan Murphy, the South African prop BJ Botha and the English utility back Iain Balshaw.

A 67-Test veteran, Jack left New Zealand after the World Cup in 2007 and is returning after a stint with English club Saracens.

The Barbarians team for the club's first visit to Australia also includes the former league star Sonny Bill Williams and former All Blacks Justin Marshall, Doug Howlett, Jerry Collins, Paul Tito, Ben Blair and Luke McAlister, who says he'll play only if he's recovered from a knee injury.

The Australian Rocky Elsom is also in the squad.
