The North Queensland rugby league captain Johnathan Thurston has backed up from the Anzac Test with his second star performance in as many days.
The playmaker scored a hat-trick in his side's 24-20 National Rugby League victory over St George Illawarra.
Only 24 hours after directing Australia to victory over the Kiwis, Thurston starred for the Cowboys, scoring 20 points in a masterful performance at Dairy Farmers Stadium.
Dragons winger Brett Morris managed to out-do the Australian halfback with four tries of his own but it wasn't enough to get the his side home.
