Thunderbirds sink sorry Swifts

The Adelaide Thunderbirds have stormed to their first-ever win over the New South Wales Swifts in Sydney with a comprehensive 51-40 victory in the trans-Tasman Netball championship.

The Thunderbirds' victory is their second against the Swifts this season and ends the reigning premiers' seven-game unbeaten run at Olympic Park.

The Australian shooter Kate Beveridge has struggled in recent weeks with her accuracy but wasb , was unstoppable for Adelaide under the high ball, landing 43 from 47 attempts at a season-high 91 per cent accuracy.

The Swifts captain and goal shoot Catherine Cox was subbed at half-time after struggling against the tight defence of Geva Mentor.

The Swifts have a two win four loss record.

The Northern Mystics play the Southern Steel in Auckland tonight,.
