The All Blacks halfback Brendan Leonard will make a much anticipated return to the Chiefs side for their final round robin match of the Super against ACT Brumbies in Hamilton on Friday night.

Leonard's missed the last three games since suffering a sternum injury against the Cheetahs in South Africa last month.

All Blacks centre Richard Kahui's also been named in the starting lineup despite concerns earlier in the week he may miss the match with a bruised calf.

Leonards' return sees Toby Morland drops to the reserves while other changes from last week's win over the Hurricanes are in the front row where where Ben May starts at loosehead prop and James McGougan at tighthead.

The Chiefs are second on the competition ladder behind the first placed South African side the Bulls.
